Digitober 2025: Helping Older People Get Online with Confidence
Across Salford
This Digitober, Age Friendly Salford is shining a spotlight on digital inclusion — because while technology is everywhere, not everyone finds it easy to get online.
For many older people, using digital devices can feel overwhelming. Whether it’s accessing local services, staying in touch with family, or simply browsing the internet, the digital world can seem out of reach. That’s why we run Tech and Tea all year round — A friendly course designed to help Salford residents aged 50+ build confidence with technology.
Tech and Tea offers:
- 🧠 Simple, step-by-step learning in small weekly sessions
- 📱 Hands-on support with tablets, smartphones, and more
- 💬 Help with everyday tasks like online shopping, video calling, and finding local information
- 💻 A tablet for just £30 (refundable if returned)
During Digitober, we’re also hosting Digital Drop-ins across the city — informal sessions where older people can get one-to-one help with their devices, ask questions, and find out when the next Tech and Tea course starts.
📍 Find us in libraries, community centres, and local hubs across Salford.
💡 No experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
Let’s make sure no one is left behind in the digital age. If you or someone you know could benefit, come along or get in touch. It’s never too late to get online.
