The GM Walking Festival is a month-long celebration of walking, promoting opportunities to participate in various walks across Greater Manchester throughout May. The festival aims to showcase different walking routes, groups to walk with, and reasons to walk. Additionally, we host our own “Walk and Talks” every Wednesday in Salford, providing another avenue for local engagement and exploration during the festival
Event
The walk is suitable for all abilities, anyone can attend. The aim is to explore Salford’s green and blue spaces to improve our wellbeing, be active and social.
We meet at different locations every Wednesday at 11am.
Our organisation has a programme called Age Friendly Salford, that actively seeks to enhance the quality of life and improve the health of older people through active participation and engagement in a programme of age well activities. Age Friendly Salford supports older people to keep informed, safe, engaged and respected in local communities.
