As part of our ongoing efforts to support the older community in Salford, Age Friendly Salford recently organised three “Brew and Chat” sessions across the city as part of Brew Monday. These events provided a warm and welcoming environment where older residents could come together over a cup of tea to discuss ways to combat loneliness and share some general chat.
In addition to these sessions, we collaborated with Salford City Council to deliver 100 winter warm packs to residents aged 65 and older. These packs are designed to help our older community stay warm and comfortable during the colder months. Each pack includes a blanket, scarf, gloves, a bobble hat, and a small flask to keep their tea warm.
We are committed to supporting our older residents and ensuring they feel connected and cared for, especially during the winter season.
βIt's heartwarming to see our older residents come together and support each other. Our Brew and Chat sessions have been a wonderful opportunity to combat loneliness and foster a sense of community. The winter warm packs are just one way we show our commitment to their well-being," β
